Poolside Bounty

The Bohemians March 15, 2009 General Information, Our Customer's Gardens

Conversion of poolside cactus patch to veggies. We had fun surrounding this pool area with green veggies instead of prickly plants.

Watch the timelapse video we shot that day compressing 9 hours in to 1 minute 30 seconds.

Two existing beds that formerly held cactus and rocks.
Jen adds mix of compost and bedding soil.
Starter plants included lettuces, strawberries, poppies and a wide variety of culinary herbs.

Site modifications included adding cedar so soil snd water would not move under the deck. Limestock block were also used to build bed edges and match the exisiting limestone rock work.
The finished right-hand bed awaiting seeds to sprout. Once they are up we’ll add more mulch to protect the soil and hold moisture.
A better view of the right and left beds.
